Planet Zoo 2 Platforms

Planet Zoo 2 ships on four storefronts: Steam and Epic Games Store on PC, plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on console. That is the complete official list. There is no Mac version, no Nintendo Switch version and no mobile version, and Frontier has never announced any of them, so the honest answer for every other platform is not announced rather than never.

Planet Zoo 2 is launching on four storefronts across four platforms: Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official pre-order page links exactly these four, and the Deluxe Edition is listed on each one.

The Steam listing confirms the PC build is Windows-only: the platform fields read Windows yes, Mac no, Linux no.

What each console store adds

The two console storefronts publish details the PC page does not, and all of it is verifiable on the pages themselves.

PlayStation 5. The PlayStation Store listing marks the game PS5 Pro Enhanced, lists the publisher as Frontier Developments plc, gives it a PEGI 7 rating for Europe (violence and in-game purchases), and tags it 1 player with online play optional. Owners of the first Planet Zoo on PlayStation get a 10% loyalty discount off the Deluxe pre-order price. That discount is a Sony-store note, so check your own regional page before assuming it applies elsewhere.

Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox listing prices the editions at £39.99 and £54.99, matching the official SRP. It is Optimised for Xbox Series X|S and carries Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning the page lists both Xbox Series X|S and PC under "Play with". Its capability list reads Single player, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, Ray Tracing, Console Keyboard & Mouse and PC Game Pad, and the page advertises 17 supported languages.

Two of those labels deserve care. "Online play optional" and "Single player" are storefront tag facts, and neither is a Frontier statement that realtime multiplayer does not exist. The multiplayer page keeps that distinction.

Platforms that have not been announced

⚠️ Unconfirmed. Nothing below is a cancellation. Frontier has simply never mentioned any of these platforms. If that changes, this page changes with it.

One console generation only

The jump to fully aquatic species, flying birds and Wildlife Reserves is the reason the console list skips last-gen, though Frontier has not said so explicitly. What matters for buyers is practical: if you play on a base PS4 or an Xbox One, no version of this game has been announced for you.

Where to go next

The release date is October 13, 2026 on every one of these four storefronts, the PC requirements spell out what Windows hardware needs, and the editions page explains the $15 Deluxe gap. The one confirmed cross-platform feature, the Frontier Workshop, is described on the multiplayer page.

FAQ

Is Planet Zoo 2 on Mac?

No Mac version has been announced, and the Steam page lists Mac as unsupported. Boot Camp or cloud streaming workarounds are untested and unofficial.

Is Planet Zoo 2 coming to Nintendo Switch?

Nothing has been announced. The full official platform list is PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is there crossplay between PC and console?

Nothing has been announced about cross-platform play between Steam, Epic, PS5 and Xbox players. The one confirmed cross-platform feature is the Frontier Workshop, where blueprints move between platforms.

Does Xbox Play Anywhere cover this game?

The Xbox store listing carries the Xbox Play Anywhere tag and lists Xbox Series X|S and PC under "Play with", so one digital purchase covers both there. Steam and Epic purchases are separate and unaffected.
