What this site is, how we label facts we cannot confirm, how we handle your data, and the rules of use, all on one page.
Who we are
Planet Zoo 2 Wiki is an independent, fan-made wiki covering Planet Zoo 2, the zoo simulation game developed and published by Frontier Developments. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Frontier Developments.
What we do
We collect information from official sources (the official Planet Zoo 2 website and its Zoopedia, the Steam store API, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store and Xbox store listings, and official trailers), from hands-on previews, and from community reports, then rewrite and organize it into plain-English pages. Every page carries a fact-check date, a status badge and a sources list.
Corrections
Spotted something wrong? Tracking pages, meaning the release date, platforms, price and editions, PC requirements, and the animal roster, are re-checked regularly. Known backfill points (the exact unlock time, the confirmed full animal roster, and the Deluxe Edition contents list) are filled in the day Frontier publishes them. Corrections are applied with a new fact-check date.
Three labels, used literally
Every fact on this site carries one of three labels. This is not decoration. It is the whole editorial method.
- Official sources: published by Frontier on its own channels (the official site, the Zoopedia, official store listings, official trailers). Safe to rely on.
- Partially confirmed: confirmed in part, or reported by a credible third party or community wiki but not on a first-party page. We name the source and flag the gap.
- Pending confirmation: Frontier has not announced it. We say so plainly and explain what would change the answer.
What we refuse to do
- We do not invent numbers, animal names, unlock times or edition contents. If no source exists, the page says the information does not exist yet.
- We do not treat the animal roster as final while Frontier is still revealing species ahead of launch. The roster page carries its last-updated date and says plainly that species not listed are unannounced, not absent.
- We do not invent a Mac version, a Switch version, a mobile version, a realtime multiplayer mode, or an unlock hour that was never announced. Each of those has a page that states the honest answer instead, and each gets updated the day Frontier changes it.
How to read a caveat box
Pages where a claim is genuinely uncertain carry a Read this first box immediately below the summary. That box is the fastest way to know which parts of the page are solid and which are waiting on Frontier.
Data we collect
This is a static website. We do not run accounts, comment systems, newsletters or forms. No personal information is collected by the site itself.
Cookies & analytics
We use Baidu Analytics and Google Analytics for aggregate traffic counts. Google Analytics may set its own cookies (such as _ga) to measure usage; neither service identifies individual visitors to us. Third-party embeds may set their own cookies, as described below.
Third-party content
Pages embed or link to third-party services, notably YouTube video embeds and store pages. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply when you interact with them. Video embeds load from youtube-nocookie.com and only after you click.
