Planet Zoo 2 Aquarium

Aquariums are Planet Zoo 2's headline addition, and Frontier's own Zoopedia now supplies the full list of what can live in them. Thirty-two species fall into the two fish classes, three of which are Deluxe content, led by Blacktip Reef Sharks, Hawksbill Turtles and the West Indian Manatee, which sit in separate groups again.

Aquariums are the biggest single addition in Planet Zoo 2. The series has had small exhibit tanks since the first game, but this is the first time it gets fully aquatic species in custom-built freshwater and saltwater aquariums, built as proper habitats rather than display boxes.

What goes in the tanks

Frontier's Zoopedia lists 32 species across the two fish classes, 29 of them in the base game and three tagged as Deluxe content. Everything in that table is a fish, shark or ray, which is what makes these the aquarium roster. Freshwater potential is easy to spot in the list: creatures like the Clown Loach, Common Rudd, Brown Trout, Blunthead Cichlid and Boeseman's Rainbowfish sit alongside saltwater reef fish, so mixed-style parks are clearly intended.

Three entries carry Zoopedia's Deluxe tag: the Blue and Gold Fusilier, the Great Hammerhead and the Longfin Batfish. Two large animals the official copy also puts in water, the Hawksbill Turtle and the West Indian Manatee, belong to class Reptilia and Mammalia respectively, so they sit outside the fish count above. The complete set, including those two, is on the animal roster page.

What is confirmed and what is not

Confirmed. Custom freshwater or saltwater aquariums are promised in Frontier's store copy, which also names a diving suit. The official site's feature copy names Blacktip Reef Sharks and Hawksbill Turtles outright. The species list above is Zoopedia's own. Where each of those species sits in the wider roster is broken down by class on the roster page, and the flying equivalent is covered on the aviary page.

Not documented yet. Filtration, temperature and salinity rules, tank size limits, whether a dedicated aquarist staff role exists, and the economics of aquarium guest appeal. Preview accounts mention in-tank diving and underwater scenery pieces, and those match the official diving-suit line, but they are community reports.

FAQ

Are sharks in Planet Zoo 2?

Yes. The Blacktip Reef Shark is named in the official store copy, and Zoopedia adds the Indo-Pacific Leopard Shark, the Great Hammerhead and the Ocellated Eagle Ray.

Which aquatic species are Deluxe only?

Three: the Blue and Gold Fusilier, the Great Hammerhead and the Longfin Batfish, all tagged in Zoopedia and included with the Deluxe Edition.

Are there dolphins or whales?

No cetaceans are listed. The largest listed marine mammal is the West Indian Manatee, and it is vulnerable.
